Being based in the North West it sometimes feels like you’re out of the loop with a lot of the health and wellbeing community, which seems to be concentrated in London.
When I stumbled across the Candlelit Yoga to celebrate the launch of Mind Body Bowl via the fabulous Love Raw (have you seen their new almond milks?), I knew it would be a great event and even better? It was near Manchester (only an hour or so away from me).
It was held at the Yard in Alderley Edge which could not have been a more perfect location – beautiful in every way, very Hygge and cosy. They have the most gorgeous shop where you can buy all sorts from yoga clothes, to their very own toiletries and ceramics..needless to say I didn’t leave empty handed!
We started with an hour of vinyasa yoga with Annie (author of Mind Body Bowl) followed by a really open and interesting group Q & A. Annie has such a great outlook on health and wellbeing and how it is individual to each person, changing all the time – you just need to listen to your body. It’s not a one rule fits all and finding your balance is key!
After that came the food – 3 delicious courses all from the book. Carrot, coconut and turmeric soup to start and butternut squash curry for the main followed by the most amazing coconut mousse with chocolate sauce and raspberries…just wow.
We all got a copy of the book which looks amazing. It has 3 sections – Mind, Body and Bowl – and has almost 60 recipes….I can’t wait to try them!
It was fantastic to meet so many like-minded people who are based nearby, and hopefully there will be more and more of this type of event here in the future. The Yard already has lots of exciting events coming up, their events list is here – roll on Voga..
Who else is based in the North West and wants to see more events like this? I’m sure we have lots of wonderful venues and possibilities here…
